ARTWORKS around town July Gallery Opening . . .
Sharon Hanse - Calligraphy Artist
ARTWORKS will feature Sharon Hanse’s solo Calligraphy exhibit for the month of July. A reception will begin the show on Friday, July 10 at five p.m. The party is free and all are invited to attend to celebrate Sharon and her work.
The study of art has been a lifelong quest for this artist, whose works have been collected and treasured by many over the years. After high school, Sharon studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art and the Cleveland Community College. She learned drawing, painting, design and layout skills.

In 1978, she became a serious student of Calligraphy. Studying with some of the most accomplished artists in the world helped her to perfect the art form that would become her passion.
During these years, she learned illumination, gilding, book making, paper making, collage as well as printmaking and silkscreening. All of these influences can be seen in her pieces. She uses watercolors, pastels, collage, embossing, papers she has made and marbled, block printing and paper cutting.
ARTWORKS around town is a non profit art gallery and educational center located in Wheeling’s Historic Centre Market. Hours are ten a.m until fivethirty p.m. six days a week from Monday through Saturday. For more information about our Gallery, go to our website: artworksaroundtown.com
